The reserve is located on the south-western border of the world-renowned Kruger National Park. Leopard, rhino, elephant and buffalo walk ancient paths once used by the San (Bushman) people. Over 250 San rock art paintings, estimated to be 1 500 years old, are found in the Reserve – the greatest concentration of rock art per square metre on earth. Bongani is a low-risk malaria destination due to its altitude, which offers an unforgettable mountain safari with breathtaking views of the surrounding African bush. Visit the Safari Ostrich Show Farm. It is an operating farm where you will see large flocks of ostriches at different stages of development in the surrounding fields. During the course of the tour the guide will explain every aspect of ostrich farming, from breeding to rearing. The tour starts in the breeding camp, with a nest of ostrich eggs, you will get the opportunity to test the strength of the eggs by standing on them. During the breeding season you get to see ostrich eggs hatching in the incubator rooms. You get to sit on an ostrich and for the brave ones you can even try your hand at riding one. Every tour ends with an "Ostrich Derby" where local jockeys display their riding skills. A highly entertaining and educational tour is guaranteed. A unique feature, of the Safari experience is a visit to the Ostrich Palace "Welgeluk" which was built at the height of the feather boom in 1910. The homestead is a National Monument and a superb example of the type of architecture that was used at the time.

What makes Monkeyland, in Plettenberg Bay, so exceptional is that this sanctuary caters for several species of primates that are free living. At this sanctuary the emphasis is to search for the various species of lemur, monkeys and apes that have been released in the Monkeyland forest. Visit the Tsitsikamma Forest, The Tsitsikamma National Park forms part of the greater Garden Route National Park. The area is covered by large areas of indigenous forest as well as commercial plantations and fynbos. The Tsitsikamma's spectacular scenery includes the Indian Ocean breakers, pounding rocky shores beneath 180 m high cliffs, ever-green forests and fynbos (proteas and heath) rolling down to the sea in a lush carpet where ancient rivers have carved deep gorges on their path to the ocean through rocky ravines.
