Let Syavaya Tours help you discover the treasures of this region.

Inanda Heritage Route – Mandela Footprint Focus
Depart Durban ICC: 09h00
Return to Durban ICC: 15h00
Tour takes place daily.

The Inanda Heritage Route takes in some of the most important, albeit little-known, historical sites of Durban. Winding its way through the Inanda Valley, it provides a snapshot of critical South African history as well as, perhaps surprisingly, India's past.

A 20 minute drive out of the city takes us to the Inanda Heritage Route, to visit the first home of Mahatma Gandhi. In 1994, Inanda's outlook changed as democracy was born in South Africa. To mark the occasion, Nelson Mandela cast his vote in this historic election at Inanda's Ohlange Institute, fitting given that the first-ever president of the African National Congress (ANC), Dr. John L. Dube, established this school in 1901. Next we drive south to a Hindu Temple of Understanding - a spiritual wonderland. We finish off at the One and Only Restaurant in KwaMashu for a late lunch.

Total Cost: R 900 per person, minimum 4 people, includes lunch & entrance fees.
